Dr. Leonard Provides Education to Doctors from Brazil and from all Over the World

CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND (November 1, 2010) – Dr. Robert Leonard, chief surgeon and founder of Leonard Hair Transplant Associates in Newton recently returned from beautiful Belo Horizontes in the State of Minas Gerais, where he was an invited faculty member for the Brazilian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery. This is Dr. Leonard‘s second invitation to Brazil-the first being two years ago to Rio de Janeiro.

The congress, held at the prestigious Hospital Mater Dei, provided education to doctors from throughout Brazil and from all over the world. Dr. Leonard presented talks of treating the female patient with hair loss, discussing not only his surgical techniques for these patients, but also the medical and laser therapy treatments available to women. He stressed the great importance of addressing the psychological aspects that women experience if they have thinning hair. “Hair loss in women is very often devastating for them”, states Dr. Leonard. “It is normal for men to lose their hair (though they don’t like it), but it is not at all so for women. Women are special patients that need to be treated with expertise and special care.”

The second topic that Dr. Leonard taught was his experience with the new NeoGraft F.U.E. hair transplant procedure. He is the only surgeon in New England who has this revolutionary device, which allows for transplantation without the need of scalpels, stitches or staples—and leaves no linear scarring in the donor area. “This new automated surgical tool I have allows for a less invasive type of hair transplant procedure and provides less discomfort after the surgery”, indicates Dr. Leonard.

“I am blessed to have been invited to visit Belo Horizontes, a beautiful city full of wonderful people and, especially delicious food! The way to my heart definitely is though my stomach—and, Minas Gerais offers some of the best food I have ever had anywhere in the world! No wonder I loved it so much.”
