Before surgery began, Dr. Lopresti mapped out the recipient area and designed the areas where the transplanted grafts would be placed. After local anesthetic was administered to the donor area at the back of Tuukka’s scalp, Dr. Lopresti extracted the follicular unit grafts individually.

“The procedure was easy, and honestly, it felt like I was just relaxing on a regular morning,” Rask said. “Dr. Lopresti and his team made the process smooth and comfortable.”

For the recipient portion of the procedure, Tuukka sat upright and watched Netflix while Dr. Lopresti created the recipient sites. The grafts were then individually placed into those sites by the medical team. His surgery was finished by early afternoon.

“Tuukka’s procedure went smoothly, and he was a great patient,” Dr. Lopresti said. “He was calm throughout the process, even during the more delicate portions. He also had a good donor area for an FUE transplant, which means his results will look natural.”

When will Tuukka Rask see his hair transplant results?

Hair transplant results take time. Patients typically begin noticing early new growth around five to six months after surgery. More significant cosmetic change develops around nine to twelve months, with the final result generally developing between 16 and 18 months.
